DP6 in the race for renewal city theater Arnhem

Five teams of architects and engineers, including DP6 architecture studio, have been selected to come up with their ideas for the new Stadstheater in Arnhem.

A total of 19 design teams had registered for the selection phase. The assessment committee, which consists of representatives from the municipality of Arnhem and the Stadstheater, looked at experience with similar projects, with the combination of renovation and new construction, and experience with sustainability and circularity.

The five teams are now going to work on their vision, plan of approach and quotation. The municipality provides frameworks for this. For example, part of the current building will have to be demolished, monumental walls and parts will remain standing and there will be an extension in square meters. The assessment committee will then review these plans. In January 2023, she will announce which team may further develop the plans into a design.
